Twipe is a mediatech scale-up based in Leuven, Belgium working with leading newspaper publishers in Europe and the US to grow their digital subscribers and sustain quality journalism. We offer cloud based digital edition publishing, analytics, and personalization solutions. Our innovative solutions accelerate the growth of newspapers including international titles like Le Monde and The Telegraph and leading Belgian titles like De Standaard and Het Nieuwsblad.. 

To inspire our industry, we gather and analyse industry knowledge and share insights with our growing Future of News publishers’ community.

As a part of a small team, you’ll need to wear multiple hats and handle both internal IT systems and cloud infrastructure responsibilities. You should be comfortable working independently, managing competing priorities, and adapting to new challenges as they arise. If you enjoy having a broad scope of responsibilities, technical challenges and making a tangible impact, this role is for you. 

  

What would you do?   

  • You own daily operational KPIs for internal systems and AWS infrastructure.

  • You maintain and improve IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and tools.

  • You manage AWS infrastructure for scalability, security, and cost-efficiency.

  • You identify and resolve issues using real-time monitoring.

  • You automate infrastructure with tools like Terraform.

  • You enhance CI/CD pipelines for fast and reliable deployments.

  

Your track record  

  • You bring 4+ years of experience in a similar role within a production environment. 

  • You manage and prioritize the backlog to ensure alignment with project goals and deadlines. 

  • You demonstrate strong expertise in AWS (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, VPC) or another cloud provider. 

  • You excel in database management with both SQL and NoSQL systems. 

  • You are proficient with Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation. 

  • You possess a strong understanding of networking infrastructure and security best practices. 

 

Additional skills that might be useful:

  • You have experience working in regulated environments such as ISO 27001. 

  • You bring expertise in endpoint and user management tools (e.g., Entra-ID, Intune). 

  • You have practical experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Bitbucket, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or GitHub Actions. 

  • You are familiar with configuration management tools like Ansible or Puppet.
