Twipe is a mediatech scale-up based in Leuven, Belgium working with leading newspaper publishers in Europe and the US to grow their digital subscribers and sustain quality journalism. We offer cloud based digital edition publishing, analytics, and personalization solutions. Our innovative solutions accelerate the growth of newspapers including international titles like Le Monde and The Telegraph and leading Belgian titles like De Standaard and Het Nieuwsblad..

As a key member of our IT and DevOps team, you'll operate as both an thought leader and hands-on expert across our internal IT ecosystem and cloud infrastructure landscape.

What will you drive? 

  • Manage and evolve Our Tech Ecosystem — Make sure our IT infrastructure (servers, networks, tools) is up to date with solutions that amplify team capabilities.

  • Own Critical Performance Metrics — Take ownership of key KPIs across internal systems and AWS, directly influencing operational excellence.

  • Manage and evolve our Cloud Infrastructure — Manage and optimize our AWS environment for performance, security, and cost in collaboration with our Engineering teams

  • Implement Proactive Monitoring — Identify and resolve issues before they impact performance using advanced monitoring.

  • Champion Infrastructure as Code — Create reliable, dynamic infrastructure with Terraform that minimizes manual work.

  

Your track record  

  • You bring 4+ years of experience in a similar role within a production environment. 

  • You have strong expertise in AWS (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, VPC) or another cloud provider. 

  • You have strong expertise in database management (ideally with both SQL and NoSQL systems). 

  • You are comfortable with Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation. 

  • You possess a strong understanding of networking infrastructure and security best practices. 

 

Additional skills that might be useful:

  • You have experience working in regulated environments such as ISO 27001. 

  • You bring expertise in endpoint and user management tools (e.g., Entra-ID, Intune). 

  • You have practical experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Bitbucket, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or GitHub Actions. 

  • You are familiar with configuration management tools like Ansible or Puppet.
